About Julia
My name is Julia Moffitt, I am a physiologist and ultrarunner passionate about empowering women to reach their full potential, especially during menopause.
My journey into endurance sports started later in life, revealing the profound impact physical activity can have on both body and mind.
Nine years ago, I set out to qualify for the Western States Endurance Run, the world’s oldest and most prestigious 100-mile foot race. In 2024, after nearly a decade of perseverance, I crossed that finish line, solidifying my belief in resilience, determination, and informed strategy.
With a PhD in Physiology and over 25 years of experience as an academic researcher, administrator, and now medical writer, I offer evidence-based strategies that help women reclaim their health and thrive during menopause.
I’ve been there, and I understand the challenges of finding the right path forward. That’s why I’m committed to helping women of all abilities defy societal expectations and thrive.
When I’m not speaking, you’ll find me on the trails with my Trail Sisters running community or exploring the latest research on women’s health. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, I believe in authenticity and inclusivity in all aspects of life.

I look forward to connecting with you and being part of your next event, so we can inspire and empower women to blaze their own trails through menopause and beyond.

Trailblazing through menopause: A roadmap for endurance and empowerment
Most people with ovaries will spend a third of their lives navigating menopause and its aftermath, yet resources and guidance are scarce.
Society often paints a picture of a 'golden girl' fading into the sunset—a future many of us reject. I certainly did. At 45, I set out to qualify for and complete the Western States Endurance Run, one of the toughest 100-mile ultramarathons in the world.
As a physiologist, I understood how the body adapts to training, but my biggest challenge was learning to train and manage life while going through menopause. While your goals may differ from mine, I’ll share specific strategies to harness physical activity as a powerful tool to navigate this life transition and achieve your most important health and fitness goals.
This talk is about choosing a new path—one that lets you navigate menopause or any health challenge with strength, resilience, and confidence.

The pulse of life: The key to transforming women’s heart health
As women age, cardiovascular disease poses the most significant risk to their health and longevity.
However, movement and regular physical activity can dramatically improve heart health and well-being.
This talk provides practical, evidence-based insights to help you integrate movement into your daily routine, transforming and elevating your total health and well-being for years to come.

From stress to strength: Leveraging autonomic balance to develop resilience to brain and heart disease
Societal stress is soaring, and so are mental health issues and cardiovascular diseases.
The autonomic nervous system plays a pivotal role in maintaining brain and heart health. Achieving autonomic balance is key to simultaneously protecting us against neurological and cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Moffitt shares over 20 years of research, offering practical tools to help you develop autonomic balance, enhance your resilience to stress, and promote overall well-being.
